Yarmouth, ME and all its small town charm!

When you picture a typical ‘coastal Maine’ town,  Yarmouth, ME might come to mind. The charming New England main street is dotted with small businesses, a port, and lovely homes that fill its village center.  If you're looking for Yarmouth on a map it’s on the southern coast of Maine and is about 11 miles northeast of Portland. It’s also conveniently located just south of the border to Freeport, Maine; a shopper’s outlet heaven.

The coast line of Yarmouth is a beautiful place to call home by finding new house in one of the many lovely neighborhoods. Check out the lovely neighborhoods of Yarmouth and the surrounding towns on this video.  Another option for real estate in Yarmouth is on its two well-known Islands, Cousins Island and Littlejohn Island.  Yarmouth, in total, has around 10,000 residents.


However, this weekend Yarmouth is expected to house about 100,000 people for the annual Clam Festival. There will be more than 6,000 pounds of clams, 6,000 lobster rolls, 2,200 pancake breakfasts, and 400 homemade pies. WOW sounds delicious! Along with the food there will be live music, a clam shucking contest, a parade, a bike race, fireworks, and more fun.

The Yarmouth, Maine housing market for residential real estate saw a 10% decrease in inventory since June 2017; currently showing about 36 active listings in the system. The median sale price has increased to $764,500, a 7% increase from just last month! Inventory is low right now but don't let that stop you from looking at real estate in Yarmouth, ME
