Rockland ME Housing Overview
Breakwater Light is a Rockland’s premier landmark, located on at the end of a long jetty in West Penobscot Bay. The granite slabs reach out over a half-a-mile, eventually leading to the 1888 lighthouse. In the summer months, there are regular tours of the facility as fishing and recreation boats sail by. It's an enchanting scene for both visitors and people who are lucky enough to own Rockland real estate.
The Strand Theatre has been open since 1923, and now has a place on the National Register of Historic Places. Started by a local businessman, the venue thrived despite the Great Depression and the invention of television. Today, the multi-use venue shows the best in independent and international film; hosts regular musical and comedy performances; as well as streams the Opera and National Theatre of London Live each year. Those with real estate in Rockland are just moments from this piece of national and state history.
